Maria Morrell
Founder and Artistic Director
Maria is a graduate and member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and its affiliate, the American Society of Teachers of Dancing. Maria presently studies at Jeanette Neil’s Dance Studio in Boston, Broadway Dance Center, Luigi Jazz Center, and Steps-on Broadway in New York. She has attended an intense summer teacher’s program at Broadway Dance Center in New York City and served as the Summer Dance Director at Lawrence Academy for many years. Maria also served as the Dance Director for the Groton School from 2012-2019. Another side project of Maria’s involved teaching a Gymni-Crickets program at Ayer Kiddie Depot. She participated in various workshops over the past twenty-seven years, including 2012 PULSE in New York City, the Northeast Workshop of 1999-2001, 1999 through present Summer Arts program at Lawrence Academy, Dance Olympus Convention 1988-98, DTCB Convention in 2003, and Joe Tremaine’s Convention 1992. Maria has performed A Chorus Line with the Action Boxboro Theater and choreographed Carousel for the same group. She was the choreographer for Finian’s Rainbow at Mount Wachusett Community College and Mame at Ayer High School in 1999.
Allison Hamel
Assistant Director and Recreational Instructor
Allison (Allie) Hamel, from Baldwinville, Mass., is one of our instructors at Maria's School of Dance. Allie joined Maria's School of Dance staff in 2019. In addition to being an instructor, she runs our website and Facebook page. Beginning dance at the age of five, Allie danced for thirteen years at The Dance Center in Winchendon MA, studying all genres of dance. She graduated from Narragansett Regional High School in 2013 and continued her education in Exercise Science at Colby-Sawyer College, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in 2017. While studying at Colby-Sawyer, Allison was an active member and choreographer for their dance club. She also was a member of their Performance Dance Company from 2015-2017. Allison completed her master’s degree in 2020 through Fitchburg State University’s Online Accelerated MBA Program. She is currently employed as an Assistant Program Director at The Little Gym of West Boylston in West Boylston, MA.

Molly Crawford
Assistant Director and Competition & Recreational Instructor
Molly has danced since the young age of 7 years old at West Concord Dance Academy for 11 years. She then became a cheerleading coach for the Ayer Shirley Broncos coaching the 6-8th graders. Additionally she was cheerleading coach for the high school Panthers. Molly studied under DMA ( Dance Masters of America) to continue her learning and teaching in dance. She worked for Maria’s School of Dance for 5 years from 2014-2019. Molly spent time working at Wachusett Animal Hospital and is happy to come back as assistant director and teach classes again at Maria’s School of Dance.
Krystal started dancing at Maria's School of Dance when she was 2 years old. She stayed with the studio for 16 years. Krystal then studied at Harvard Dance Academy. She attended Radix and Neuvo conventions during her time there. Krystal is now attending dance classes at Zello Dance Studios in Peabody, MA. She is currently in school to get her license in medical assisting.
Christine Kidder
Substitute Recreational Instructor
Christine began studying dance thirty-one years ago and has been teaching at Maria’s for eighteen years. She presently takes classes at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City, Steps-on Broadway, and Ailey Extension. Christine graduated from Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston’s teacher training school in 1996. Christine spent three seasons performing with the Jennie & Co., a modern dance company based in Fitchburg, and also one season performing with the Atlantis Contemporary Dance Company. Christine has participated in many area dance conventions and continues to enjoy taking classes and attending workshops at local studios and colleges. Christine earned her bachelors degree in business administration from Fitchburg State College in 2001.
